WebNMS and LP Technologies Announce Partnership - Companies To Extend Unified Network Management Over Satellite Networks
March 01, 2016

Industry leaders to present and demo the new Symphony Satellite Manager solution and discuss the new partnership at Satellite2016, taking place at the Gaylord National Convention Center, National Harbor, MD on March 7-10.

March 6, 2016 - Pleasanton, CA. and Wichita, KS - WebNMS, the leading provider of multi-vendor network management, service orchestration and IoT solutions, and LP Technologies, the industry leader in spectrum analysis, monitoring and management systems, today announced that the companies have partnered to develop a complete satellite network management solution. The combined solution will allow satellite network operators to fully unify their network operations, lower costs and simplify service automation, ultimately enabling dynamic, high quality networking services.

"Prior to the solution we have developed with LPT, managing satellite networks required costly integration of proprietary satellite network management systems and multiple third party applications," says Darryl Stork, Regional Director for WebNMS. "The new Symphony Satellite Manager unifies these disparate management silos into one – creating a comprehensive solution for satellite networks that includes the requisite spectrum management capabilities, while reducing operational costs and creating the ability for users to respond more quickly to even further revenue opportunities."

Current solutions in the market focus on service assurance, but typically fail to address the orchestration of the full-service lifecycle, a critical requirement for on-demand services. The new Symphony Satellite Manager consolidates cross-functional operations such as service inventory, provisioning, activation and assurance, fault and performance management, configuration, discovery and topology, as well as LP Technologies’ spectrum management capabilities, with satellite access and transmission equipment control, monitoring and visualization.

"Satellite operators look to LP Technologies for cost-effective solutions that reliably manage their spectrum, a critical resource that must be efficiently utilized," said Micky Mukalay, Director of Business Development at LP Technologies. "Our partnership with WebNMS simplifies the inherent complexity of managing satellite networks, lowering TCO and increasing network efficiency. I’m excited for the benefits both our current and future clients are going to enjoy as they implement and use the new Symphony Satellite Manager."

The solution also leverages LP Technologies’ seamless integration with LPT-ASM Automated Spectrum Manager and Remote Spectrum Analyzers, which accelerate the deployment of reliable, efficient satellite systems. The LPT-ASM software monitors and analyzes linked spectrum data collected from LP Technologies’ spectrum analyzer systems deployed at each ground station.

Stork concludes, "Through this partnership, intuitive visualization of data and control of spectrum is unified and works alongside with Symphony’s complete network management capabilities. It’s an amazing solution and we look forward to bringing it to market."

WebNMS and LP Technologies will give a joint demonstration of the integrated Symphony Satellite Manager and LPT-ASM plus LST-R3000R spectrum management solution in the Innovation Theater at Satellite2016, which is taking place at the Gaylord National Convention Center, National Harbor, MD on March 7 - 10, 2016.
