As with Web NMS, there are two types of licensing policies for Web NMS Remote Management Edition :
Trial User Policy
Registered User Policy
AdventNet provides a default Evaluation (trial) period for Web NMS Remote Management Edition, which can be extended if required. AdventNet will provide a Registered user file after the product has been purchased.
The trial license file is available with the product. If you need to extend the trial license or obtain a new trial license, e-mail to sales@adventnet.com.
To get the registered user license for Remote Management Edition, please send an e-mail to sales@adventnet.com
After installation, when the server is started for the first time by invoking the startnms.bat/sh script from the bin directory, or by starting the Launcher (WebNMSLauncher.bat/sh present in <Web NMS Home> directory, the License Manager is invoked. Select the option "I accept" and click Next to move the following UI:

Select the license file by using the Browse button. The following are the two possible scenarios,
If Standard or Professional License is provided, the BE context will not change to Central Server. The DMS connected to the Central Server will be shut down automatically. This is due to the fact that only trial license or the RME registered user license can be used to enable distribution.
If the trial license is provided, distribution will be enabled for the trail period only. The default trial period is 45 days.
Selecting the Web NMS 2.3/2.2.1 key option will lead to a screen with user name,company name and license key. But this key will not enable distribution.
Upgrade License Policy from Trial User to Registered User
Start the Web NMS RME's Central Server either through the Launcher by running the WebNMSLauncher.bat/sh file present under the <Central Home> directory, or by executing startnms.bat/sh from <Central Home>/bin directory.
From the help menu, select the Register menu item. The License Manager screen pops up. Follow the sequence explained above for License Manager.
Upgrade From One Edition to Another
If you need to upgrade your license from one edition of Web NMS to another edition (Example: OEM Standard to OEM Professional), perform the following procedure.
For a license file to move from one edition to another, e-mail to sales@adventnet.com.
Place the new trial/permanent license file in the <Web NMS Home>/classes directory and continue to work with the product.
