5.3.3 Configuring serverparameters.conf

The file serverparameters.conf contains various Web NMS server related parameters. This document explains the parameters which are specific to the file serverparameters.conf. All other parameters you find in serverparameters.conf are the same as that of NmsProcessesBE.conf or NmsProcessesFE.conf.

Note: If by default, a parameter is not available in the serverparameters.conf file, then it is known as an optional parameter. You can specify such parameters in the file as per your requirement (after learning about its function from this document).

Option for Restricting the number of Clients

For example, if you want to restrict the number of client connections to FIVE, you can add the parameter as shown below:

MAX_CLIENT_SESSIONS 5

Note: When you invoke HTML Client from a Java Applet Client or Java Application Client, this restriction will not take effect. For example, assume you have five clients connected to the FE server and you have restricted the maximum number of clients to five. If you try to invoke a HTML client from a Java Applet Client or Java Application Client, the sixth client will be connected, though the maximum number of clients allowed is five.

At the same time, if you try to connect a new HTML Client (or any other client), the restriction will be imposed.
