WebNMS SNMP Adaptor for JMX

JMX is emerging as the most preferred technology for management of Java and J2EE applications. On the other hand, SNMP poised to deliver an end-to-end management from various networks to different applications is a dominant protocol with widespread acceptance. Above all these facts, SNMP is supported by all well-known enterprise consoles, such as HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli, etc. Thus SNMP and JMX complement each other by providing simple and standard-based application management.
WebNMS SNMP Adaptor for JMX leverages the power of both SNMP and JMX enabling you to easily build SNMP agents for any Java or J2EE application.

Application developers and application server vendors having JMX MBeans with the instrumentation code written, look for an SNMP adaptor to manage those MBeans through SNMP. Also, many JBoss administrators are highly in need of SNMP agents for a comprehensive fault and performance management of their server and the components deployed in it.

WebNMS solves the above problems by providing SNMP Adaptor for JMX which

  • Offers an out-of-the-box SNMP Agent for JBoss that exceptionally monitors and manages the JBoss server components through SNMP.
  • Provides a configurable SNMP adaptor for user-defined MBeans built on various JMX implementations and application servers.
