1. How does an HTTP Notification work?

 

When a Notification is generated, the HTTP agent stores it in the form of a table called the notification table. When a request is made from the client side, this table is displayed in the HTML browser. For more information about HTTP Notification, please refer to "HTTP Features - Notification".

Yes, the HTTP Agent has implemented the WWW MIB as specified in RFC 2594. This WWW MIB modules are applicable to services realized by a family of Document Transfer Protocols (DTP). Examples of DTPs are HTTP and FTP.

6. What is Ip filtering mechanism?

 

HTTP supports Ip filtering mechanism which may be used by a server for filtering client IP address. The server will respond only if the client IP address is not in the Ip filtering list maintained by the HTTP agent. The implementation of this feature is optional.

7. What is Request Control Mechanism?

 

Whenever a client gives continuous requests to the Web server, it may get blocked, serving the requests. Hence whenever a client sends continuous requests to the server within a certain amount of time, the client has to be discarded.
